Bluebird
Senior Thesis Project - San Francisco State University 2015.
Bluebird is an assessment on escapism and substance abuse, using Charles Bukowski and his poem “Bluebird” as the main influence. The film makes use of stop-motion and 2D digital animation to convey the static reality of an escapist’s life.

Senior Thesis Project - CSU Channel Islands 2021
Imagine That! is a collaborative project between students at The Rock Christian Elementary School and students at California State University Channel Islands.
The elementary school students in Mr. Goodson’s 5th & 6th grade classes were asked to provide us with a drawing or piece of art.
The CSUCI students included Jackson Brazeal, Monica Foster & Alex Roman. We took the drawings and elaborated on them. We turned them into animations, embroideries, sculptures & more.
The goal of the project is to show children the possibilities of their imagination and to encourage them to continue pursuing the arts.

Mr. Goodson’s 5th & 6th Grade Reaction
As the project was introduced, their imaginations began to race to places of wonder! Their destinations ranged from a vast land filled with blue dinosaurs to a blue smiling cross on a hill; all filled with amazement and wonder.
From the clay work to the digital animations, my class was beyond impressed with their artwork being transformed before their eyes. The excitement was unlike anything I have ever experienced. They were on the edge of their seats in anticipation to see their work in a unique way. A few of them told me to “hurry up and put it on” and “stop wasting time”, however, most of them were politely waiting! (:
The cheers echoed throughout the room when the video was on and running. As students began to see their work come to life they yelled, “Hey! That’s mine!”, which was amazing to see how proud they were. They were delighted to see their hard work and creativity being displayed for everyone. My students could hardly sit still!
I appreciate all of your hard work and many thanks to you all for giving my students the opportunity to show their talents. My students and I are very grateful. Awesome work!
